We think this revolver was ordered by a British Officer departing for South Africa in 1876/77/78 who almost certainly saw service in the ZULU WAR of 1879

The two photos albums contain hundreds of original photos and show a variety of photographs from men in uniform

Many of these were however modified by having the quillon reduced in size for WWI service

He wears what is likely an M36 tunic with Litzen and a breast eagle. The bust measures roughly 9 tall, and the base is about 2 x 2 .
