Commonly known as Elephant Ears or Taro, Alocasia are native to the tropical rainforests of Asia and Eastern Australia. The root system of Alocasia consist of tuberous rhizomes which store a huge amount excess water and nutrients. For this reason, Alocasia are more prone to overwatering in the UK and the compost should be carefully checked between waterings. They
