Signed BC on the back, I've learned that it was made by Bernard Chaudron (b 1931 in Lille, France), who established ateliers in Montreal and later in Val David (north of Montreal), where from the late 60s to the late 70s he created works in gold, bronze, sterling silver & pewter using the lost
