This is an very good condition late war "last ditch" issue example of the classic Type 92 Tetsubo ( "steel cap"), also colloquially called the tetsukabuto ( "steel helmet") by troops. Towards the very end of the war, thinner steel was used, as well as simplified liners and chin straps.
