Where the Splitboard Explore runs a 70 30 mohair nylon blend optimized for glide, the Free Explore goes full 100% nylon. The tradeoff is deliberate: nylon is meaningfully more abrasion resistant than mohair, handles wet and variable snow without degrading as quickly, and holds up across a high volume of days and rough
