Native to rocky hillsides with thin soils, Evergreen Sumac also performs well in areas with a little heavy clay. In full sun it becomes large and dense, in shadier spots it is more open. It is not a true evergreen similarly to live oak, it drops its leaves in the winter and new leaves emerge shortly after. It produces creamy white flowers that attract bees and butterflies. The
