Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates 1941 1942, affixed with all four reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate with a grey blue wool liner and brown paper backer, unmarked, the shield measuring 51. 76 mm (w) x 61. 32 mm (h), in uniform removed
