Constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, the obverse consisting of a black enameled disc, overlaid by a raised Stahlhelm insignia above a silvered date of 1927 topped by oak leaves, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and banjo style pinback, maker marked with the logo of Der Stahlhof Magdeburg, measuring 30. 27 mm in diameter, weighing 10. 5 grams, the catch is missing and most of the silver finish
